One lucky winner will receive 4 bars of soap (1 pound of soap) from the batch I made my soap making tutorial! This will give you a way to experience the homemade soaps before you actually start making your own. I love the mild, pleasant smell of fresh lye soap, and I hope you do, too!

Thanks for inspiring me...maybe I'll get out my soap making stuff soon!
Following your blog now :)
Great tutorial, very easy to follow.
Hey Beth ;) I will have to say I still feel a bit intimidated by making the soap. I don't have all the supplies but would love to try making it with you sometime to see if it would be worth investing to get the supplies. However, with L's eczema I would love to try and see if this works. You did a great job explaining and including pics of the process...great idea!
I'm a follower! Thanks!
The tutorial was awesome - I've been wanting to try making soap in the crockpot...
Wow, Beth. Not sure about this... :) It sounds like a neat thing, but also a bit confusing like you said. :)
Thank you for your tutorial! I am feeling motivated to do it for myself now :) It's nice to SEE what the process is instead of just reading it. I think it's less intimidating that way!
I have made soap a few times before on the stove top. I must admit it was rather scary working with the lye! :) I might have to try it again using your method. Thanks!
I would love to try some soap! My husband would love it if I would make some and I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Thanks for the step by step, it takes some of the unknowns out for me!
I accidently found your blog today while doing some research on 'Keeper of the Home' for "No 'Poo" hair care "recipes"...now I'm excited to try your soap as well!!!

I would love to win and try this out. Your tutorial was great.
I'd definitely like to give this a try! Thanks so much for the tutorial - and the encouragement!
Okay, I may have to try this some day, even though lye does sound scary to work with. Where does lye come from, wood ashes?
Oh forgot to say...Im now a follower :) Thanks!
I would love to try your soap, homemade is the best! Great tutorial, Ive wanted to try making it but always intimated by the directions, but yours makes it seem doable! :)
Great photo tutorial! Left me feeling confident that I could make soap myself.
I am following your blog now :)
i love home-made soap! a good friend of mine makes all the soap for her family and has shared with me a couple of times. it is so much better for your skin. have not made any myself but have been wanting to. just need to get up the courage and take the plunge!
I'm following in Google reader now. Excited to be able to keep up.
Is the soap poisonous? What if my children eat it?
The lye soap is no more poisonous than any of the chemicals found in regular detergent bars. I don't recommend eating the soap...just using it. :) On a side note, I had a bunch of bars of lye soap made with rendered lard, and my dogs apparently could tell it was from an animal and they ate a bunch of bars of soap when I wasn't watching. They survived just fine.
Wonderful tutorial! I have been really interested in learning this trade, and it would be great to sample some.
And I'm a follower of your blog now!
This tutorial was truly amazing! You've convinced me that I actually might be able to make soap myself! Wow, I'm still in awe! Thank you! I hope I win so that I can try some of your lovely soap!
